Sunblock should be the final step in your skincare routine and just under foundation and make-up. Apply Beyond Sun Protection after other skincare products. We strongly recommend applying sufficient amount to fully cover the face and neck. Re-application is recommended after heavy perspiration every 2 or 3 hours. With protection against Blue Light and environmental pollution, Beyond Sun Protection is suitable for use indoors and even at night.
Sunscreens, topically applied, absorb or reflect harmful blue light and ultraviolet and infrared radiation. This helps protect the skin against sunburn, premature aging, the formulation of dark spots, and the risk of skin cancer.
UVA causes skin damage including dark spots, premature aging and photo-aging or skin wrinkling. It also suppresses the immune system. UVB is the culprit behind sunburn and the risk of skin cancer.
Blue light—also known as High Energy Visible Light or HEV—is a short wavelength that produces high amounts of energy ranging from 380 to 500 nanometres. It is scientifically proven that blue light causes skin damage including the cause of dark spot, inflammation, photo-aging—skin wrinkling and sagging—and it induces oxidative stress and weakens the skin’s surface.
Blue light penetrates deeper into the skin compared with UVA and UVB. Some studies also suggest that blue light induces skin pigmentation more than UVA and is the major culprit for the cause of dark spots.
Beyond Sun Protection is proven in a study conducted at Singapore National Skin Centre (Study on Melasma, National Skin Centre, Singapore, October 2013 to May 2014), with a protection score rating of 54.1% from Blue Light.
SPF is short for Sun Protection Factor and specifically indicates protection against the UVB rays that cause sunburn.
For example, if your skin normally burns after 10 minutes under the hot sun without protection, an SPF 50 sunscreen would provide 50 times the protection versus bare skin. This means 500 minutes of sun exposure before you start to burn.
Beyond Sun Protection has a score rating of SPF 79.7.
PPD or Persistent Pigment Darkening is an in vivo method for measuring UVA protection. This is a highly effective method for assessing UVA protection and is mandatory in Japan and Europe.
Beyond Sun Protection demonstrated a score rating of PPD 17.2.
(PPD10 blocks 90% of UVA rays)
PA or Protection Grade of UVA is another measurement of UVA protection. PA++++ grade offering protection of 15 and above is currently the highest rating for UVA protection.
Beyond Sun Protection offers UVA protection of 17 and above.
Non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic denote that the product will not clog pores, cause acne, nor make an existing acne condition worse.
Environmental pollutants are scientifically proven to cause skin damage by inducing free radicals and oxidative stress resulting in premature aging, the formulation of dark spots, and skin inflammation.
Free radicals are created when UV rays come into contact with your skin. Free radicals cause skin inflammation and damage, leading to premature ageing, wrinkling—even serious skin health issues.
Antioxidants are clinically proven to effectively fight free radical damage. They safely interact with and neutralise free radicals, helping protect your complexion to keep it looking fresh and radiant.
Sunscreens offer varying degrees of protection against UVA and UVB. However, sun damage is not caused by UVA and UVB alone. Recent scientific evidence has revealed that blue light or HEV is also a major cause of dark spots and premature skin aging. Environmental pollution, too, has been shown to be very harmful to the skin.
A good sunscreen, then, must offer adequate and effective protection against all these—UVA/B, HEV, and environmental pollution. Hence, protection score ratings of SPF, PPD, and HEV provide the first clue to choosing the right sunscreen.
Next, ensure that the product score rating stated are clinically proven. The sunscreen should also have anti-pollution and antioxidant properties and be non-comedogenic. Needless to say, the texture of the sunscreen is also an important factor to consider.
A physical sunblock (also known as a mineral sunblock) creates a barrier on the skin that filters out UV rays. It literally blocks UV rays from penetrating the skin. A chemical sunscreen penetrates the skin, absorbs UV Light, turns it into heat, and releases it from the skin.
Beyond Sun Protection has the best of both worlds—it is both a physical sunblock and a chemical sunscreen and offers complete protection both ways.
There is a bewildering range of sunscreens at various price points from all over the world. What makes Beyond Sun Protection special?
Beyond Sun Protection is a standout facial sunscreen that took five years to develop. Numerous research studies, trials, and formula testing were conducted across various countries during this time. The final product guarantees more than adequate protection against blue light or HEV at 54.1%, UVA with PPD 17.2, and UVB with SPF 79.7.
All protection score ratings of Beyond Sun Protection are clinically derived and proven. In addition to the broad-spectrum protection against harmful sun radiation, Beyond Sun Protection is also anti-pollution, antioxidant, and offers protection against infrared radiation; it is hydrating, whitening, and non-comedogenic. Each of these claims is fully supported by stringent lab test and A study conducted at Singapore National Skin Centre (Study on Melasma, National Skin Centre, Singapore, October 2013 to May 2014).
Despite the complete and very high protection level against sun damage to the skin, this cream is also extremely wearable—light, non-greasy, and with a dry touch. In fact, this is the first thing you will notice—how wearable it is— and is the result of years of relentless testing.
Beyond Sun Protection has been tested for: SPF in vitro and in vivo with a score rating of SPF 79.7; blue light or HEV in vitro and in vivo with a score rating of 54.1%; PPD or Persistent Pigment Darkening in vivo with a score rating of 17.2 (PA++++); and anti-pollution, infrared protection, antioxidant, non-comedogenic, non-acnegenic, hypoallergenic, and whitening properties. It was also tested for its ability to hydrate, with results showing a 32% increase in moisture after 27 days of use. All claims are fully supported by scientific evidence.
Besides complete protection against the harmful effects of sun radiation, Beyond Sun Protection is also tested in a study conducted at Singapore National Skin Centre (Study on Melasma, National Skin Centre, Singapore, October 2013 to May 2014) and proven to protect skin against environmental pollution. It also contains antioxidants to fight free radicals and assists skin hydration and whitening.
Beyond Sun Protection is available at authorised medical aesthetics clinics, hospital pharmacies, and exclusive premium spas and clubs. View
Always apply sunscreen as the final step of your skincare regimen before foundation and makeup.
Squeeze out approximately 1.5 to 2 cm of Beyond Sun Protection from the tube. This should cover the face and neck sufficiently. We strongly recommend applying sufficient cream to fully cover the face and neck for effective protection.
Always re-apply after swimming, perspiration, and after wiping your face. We recommend re-applying every two to three hours when under blazing hot sun.
Sunscreen should be applied after skincare products as the last step. However, sunscreen should be applied before foundation and makeup. Do not mix sunscreen together with other skincare products or makeup.
It is usually considered safe to apply sunscreen on children and babies over six months. Do not use sunscreen products on babies under six months old.
People with severe eczema and skin diseases should consult a doctor before using Beyond Sun Protection. People who are sensitive to ingredients in the sunscreen should also not use it.
Don’t worry, just wash it out with plenty of water.
Use makeup remover to remove all traces of product. Afterwards, wash with foaming cleanser.
It may cause some minor staining, but this can be easily removed by washing with detergent. As with any sunscreen, wash stains immediately—do not leave the stain to penetrate overnight.
